hi,
I put a hd in my a600 a 40mb seagate and ran hdtool box on the install disk partitioned 2x20mb partitions then formatted them installed wb2.1.
But the hd wont boot I get the purple screen asking for a disk so i put in the install disk but it doesnt show the hd until I run the hd setup again click on partition hd where it shows the hd under installed hd in system.
I cancel the partitioning and return to the wb screen and the workbench and games drawers are visible then but if i reboot the purple screen appears again asking for a disk any ideas.
It was working fine in my a1200 which I upgraded to 1.5 gb drive which incidentley i tested in the a600 as i was going to use it with whdload but as it only has a 2.0 something rom it wouldnt recognize the entire drive but it did boot.
Any ideas thanks.

When your were partitioning the drive did you check the "bootable" tab on the 1st partition?
