Title: Amiga TCP/IP game list
Post by: reflect on December 16, 2005, 04:51:31 PM
Currently I'm compiling a little list of all native games which has support for TCP/IP gaming, ie, lan/internet capable games.

The list is far from complete as of now, but if anyone has contributions, please let me know.

You can see the list here (http://www.acggbg.org/games.html) and the things I'd like to see is the name of the game, if it works on a classic machine, does it run under OS4, how many players are possible and finally, is there a dedicated server for the game (and what platforms it runs under, should anyone want to set one up themselves). Not so interested in SDL games right now, that might come in version 2 of the list..

Let me know what you think!

Thank you both!

And yes, club meetings (or amiga gatherings in general) was kind of the idea, since we had a blast the other weekend with Freespace on OS4.

That game is intense, has a great atmosphere and it's great fun to play both as a team, or against eachother. We were only three, and I can only imagine the fun when you're 6..

Doom and Doom2 are the same game; they just use different data files. Doom on the Classic Amiga supports networking and up to four players. In Doom, the machine with the lowest network address acts as the sender. It's not quite the same thing as a server.

The Doom executable supports WAD files for DOOM, DOOM2, Ultimate DOOM, TNT, Plutonia, and FreeDOOM.

Thanks, though I won't add the WAD-files thing. I figure since Doom and Doom2 was released as two separate games, it'll be listed as two games here. If there was addons later which works with the games, fine.

Added some new games and sorted the lists alphabetically, added some other data due to contributions.. thanks, all!

typo galore!
