Hi, I was wondering how I can have an icon on the WB desktop? I can copy the icon to the desktop but it vanishes when i reboot. Is there a desktop directory somewhere on the system partition?
All I want is the clearram icon to be easily accessible.

choose leve out from the icon menu over the thing you want on the desktop then snapshot it.
this should work
adonay :-D

Take DirOpus V4.12 for example. Start from Workbench and open the directory where DirOpus is in. Click one time on the DirOpus icon with right mouse click, go to the upper menu and take the option "leave out". The icon should now permanently be placed on Workbench :)

Well that was a handy feature! Thanks a lot for the quick replies.

@lauri_t
Some techy info in case you're curious.
Icons that are "left out" on the WB backdrop are stored in a file called .backdrop, in the root of the disk that the icon lives on.
.backdrop is just a simple text file containing a list of filenames.
WB reads this when you insert a disk, so if you have a floppy or CD with a .backdrop file on it, the left out icons will appear at the same time as the normal disk icon.
