Title: Steve Jobs Quote:
Post by: bloodline on December 15, 2005, 03:54:28 PM
Jobs' quote in a 1996 Fortune interview:

"What does Steve Jobs say about the plight of the company he started and the strategy of the man who wrote its first business plan, put up the first cash, and ultimately cast him out? 'To me it's simple,' he says. 'If I were running Apple, I would milk the Macintosh for all it's worth--and get busy on the next great thing. The PC wars are over. Done. Microsoft won a long time ago.'"

Which is pretty much what he did when he returned.  He made buying macs, about the software Garageband, Final Cut, Aperature, Motion, etc and then came out with the IPOD, hard to argue with 3 million units a month that they are predicting for this quarter, and the next generation ones are even going to be better.

It's just so cool that he made it clear what he was going to do, a year before he did it!
