Title: Will Prism Driver Work under Mediator?
Post by: AmiBoy on December 10, 2005, 04:55:51 PM
HI Everyone,

I was just wondering if the Prism2 driver would inadvertantly work if I plugged a correct Wireless network card into my mediator Board and setup genesis?

Im just fedup of waiting for Elbox to write a wireless card driver or even ask th Prism2 driver developer to implement a driver for the mediator.

Thanks,
AmiBoy

@Amiboy

No it only supports OS4 and OpenPCI - unfortunately, the Mediator does not.

Alternatives are the D-Link DWL-810+ (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=401) and Amiga PCMCIA Wireless card (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=121)

Mediator support for a PCI wireless chipset would be great. I could finally get rid of the ugly wireless bridge that's hanging out the back of my A1200  :roll:

It's a shame Elbox aren't more forthcoming with driver APIs for the Mediator, so that more people could write drivers for different cards.
