Title: Problem with RCFTPD and Passive mode
Post by: on April 04, 2003, 05:32:22 PM
Hi !

I' ve got some trouble setting up the passive mode with Rc-FTPD version 2.74 : The amiga is connected to the net via a local network. My router's NAT configuration forwards all ports to the amiga. The problem is, when the client sends the PASV command, Rcftpd send back 10.0.0.2 (the Amiga IP in the LAN) and not my actuel internet IP.
Is there a way to solve the problem ?

By the way, I' m using Miami Deluxe....

thx...

Have you got 2 computers hanging of the router ?
If so try ftp'ing to the Amigas Local address (The one assigned by the router) instead of going out over the internet using the routers ip and back in via the NAT translation.

If that works ok then its something odd in miami or your router

Got the same version running on my Amiga at the Moment, with port 21 pointing at it.

Works a dream for me... Excellent FTP proggy

perhaps you might try to email the author? I know for a fact he gets annoyed when he see's people posting about his software without contacting him first to see if he can help first.

sheesh

well its a bit of a catch 22 aint it, if we dont support the coders we might never see anything else from them....

Hidden in the history is how - set ENV:IP to your actual IP, it'll make rc-ftpd use that instead of asking miamidx for the IP it thinks it has - the other solution would be for miamidx to be setup to think it was the real ip... but that's up to you ;-)

Would have replied sooner, but just got back from a week in scotland (at 3am... lovely driving... ;-)
