Title: Competitive price of A1200?
Post by: DrValkyer on December 09, 2005, 11:50:48 PM
I am looking for a A1200 and I was wondering that what would be the competitive price for a basic A1200 nowadays.  You can get a NOS/refurbished A1200(no HD) from AmigaKit of Vesalia for 110-130eur.  Ofcourse the shipping fees of 40-50eur must be added into price.  I have seen auctions (in Finland) where basic A1200 systems have been sold for 60-90eur. So, what could be a reasonable price? :-?

I recently bought on off eBay here in the States for about $70US (floppy turned out to be bad), but auctions over $100US are not uncommon.  If you keep your eyes peeled on ebay sometimes you see one listed 'Buy it Now' for a ridiculously low price.  In Europe, I'd say 50-60 Euro is probably a good price for a bare bones machine.

Yeah depends where you are at!  EU has way cheaper A1200s all the time, US you are bound to lose a limb for one.... Sad really.

Yeah it's true that EU have cheaper prices!  On the other hand if you by a cheap A1200 with a KickStart 3.0 and worn floppy drive you have to buy a new floppy drive and KS3.1 and that makes overall price higher.

I just hope that I can find a good A1200 with a reasonable price. I can't wait getting my hands onto A1200 again. It's almost 10 years when I did it last time!

I´ve got several A1200 standard desktops here :) Planned on asking 60 Euro for it, shipping not included but that depends on the total weight and what extra´s need to be included  :-)

No, it´s a standard A1200 with kickstart 3.0 without hd. If you happen to have an A500 power supply that you plan to use on it then I don´t need to send the power supply of the A1200 which reduces the shipping costs and my price too

Hmm, that sounds pretty good!!! The only con is 3.0 rom, but it doesn't cost much to buy a 3.1 upgrade.  I have a working A500 PSU, but it makes a raucous noice and the power cable is pretty worn out.  :-)  Ofcourse I can buy a replacement PSU from Finland later.

What kind of sum of valuable euros are we talking about, excluding that PSU? :-D
