Freescale are changing the target for their processor.
What future for the amiga?
-
AROS!

This is not actually a problem. You can still use their processors for the desktop, but more excitingly, you can take OS4 onto the myriad of non-desktop items that run on PPC... then it really would be Amiga Anywhere! (as apposed to Amiga Nowhere™ ;-) ).

i can see a future for the os running on a wide range of devices all working together to form one powerfull solution.

Face facts guys - there isn't a future for the amiga. All that is left are happy memories and a dream of what once could have been.
I wish the amigaone and os4 would just go away and let the amiga IP die - maybe then we'd see a community driven effort to resurrect the amiga.
Or maybe not... but at least it'd end the pathetic state we are in now.

Aros
well aros and uae
and classic cause its cool
aros is an attempt to bring back the amigaos and it is easily conceivable to see aros becoming as popular and capable as linux. possibly more so because it should be more streamlined and user friendly.

this may sound stupid but I kinda agree with that, I know that there are people that already and continue to write Amiga programs e.g Moovid,amp2 etc etc. But I would like to see more community project of things we dont have , cause all we seem to get is either old games released again or ports or even rips of other games, these arent bad things. but like total chaos (not really my cuppa tea) but its an amiga game made by an Amiga fan for the community (could be wrong) and if there was some sort of payment for these kind of games, I for one would be happy to pay for them to show my support and to try to encourage more community development. One of my goals is to learn how to develop games for the amiga platform but I'm not gonna kid myself and except to be programming in 1 years time, well I guess thats my two pennys included into the future of amiga.
