Check this (http://store.mini-box.com/ituner/pw1220atxmip1.html) out, it's a gizmo that takes 12 Volt (from those little black laptop bricks) and outputs 200W of power ATX-style, IMHO it's the ultimate A1200/A600 PSU.
A guy has used it to build a laptop pegasos (http://obligement.free.fr/articles/pegasosportable.php), pretty impressive project !

And from the same "nice WEnd project for a total nutjob" dept there's also a full peg-based arcade machine (http://obligement.free.fr/articles/pegasosarcade.php) !

Is'nt it ? My pleasure.
Mate, you should stock&sell those babies. I'd sure rather buy it from you guys. In the meantime I'm saving money (In fact, I already spent quite a bit on a dream-system, but won't give any detail until the machine is here on this very desk) :sealed:

are you sure that laptop 'brick' can provide 200W?

Have a look at this A1200 Laptop (http://www.elgefa.de/projekt.html)?
:-D

Very similar to the thing I used for my "pimped" A600 (http://www.pimpmyamiga.com), although this one appears to be somewhat more compact...

there is also this adaptor from Montek which makes use of old PC-AT power supply for your A1200/600.
I bought 2 of these last year and I did not regret it.

Considering that 1200 "Laptop", at the time A1200's were being produced, how much more would it have cost to mass produce "laptop units" like that?
