I want to use FKey, but when I save the settings, it has forgotten them after a reboot.
So my question is:
how can I use FKey without loosing the settings?
-
Have you checked the protection bits in the icon file of FKey? Try setting them to RWED.

This is a bug in OS3.9 I've been led to believe.
You can set the tooltypes and save them to get it to
remember the settings but I can't remember the syntax offhand. The problem is meant to be fixed by BoingBag 2 some people have said but I downloaded
the second boing bag from amiga.com and it didn't fix it. Maybe there is a boing bag 2 as opposed to a revised boing bag 1?

The Fkey supplied with OS3.9 is broken. Grab the older one from OS3.1 if you can and all will be well.
AFAIK the newer version didn't promise any greater functionality.
-
But why Fkey? There are many better alternatives out there.
-
OS4 version won't be buggy...

*Every* piece of software has bugs....
-
Ok, I wanted to say:
...won't have these "easy-to-find" bugs !

@odin
Ahhh I`ve written programs without bugs.
Print "Hello world"
No bugs there :)

In which language? :-D

FKey because I only want to use a key for switching between windows :-)

There's a BB1, a BB1a (or so, it's a fixed version of BB1) and a BB2.
BB1a can be downloaded from amiga.com
BB2 exists only on the Haage&Partner website.
Remember to look in the english section, not the german (I learned this the hard way after reinstalling (crashed hd + new motherboard) yesterday :-( )
