Title: How to auto-run my PCMCIA/CF card (A1200)?
Post by: brendan on November 28, 2005, 08:08:58 PM
Hi folks,

Back on the Amiga scene after 10 years absence.  I've got a stock A1200, to which I've fitted a 2Gb HDD and also a PCMCIA-CompactFlash adapter (to transfer files from PC).

Everything works OK (I installed the adapter driver and fat95, from Aminet) but I have to maunally double-click the PC0: icon after booting to enable the card reader.  IS there a way of auto-"mounting" the card reader each time the machine boots or do I ahve to do it manually each time?

Not had a HDD Amiga before so it's all new.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Assuming that your PC0 is in Storage/DosDrivers, move it to Devs/DosDrivers to mount it automatically on boot-up.

BTW, why did you call it PC0 ? PC0 is for the internal floppy disk drive. I would have called it CF0 or something like that. Or MY_BELOVED_COMPACT_FLASH_DRIVER. But not PC0.

Bye,
Thomas

@Thomas
 Aren't PCMCIA drives normally CC0: ?  Or is that for carddisk.device only?

you're right thomas - it's CF0
thanks for your quick reply, i had a feeling it was as simple as that (after a google) but couldn't find the exact answer.

cheers :)
