Hi, I would like to ask if that is possible
since AFAIK Genesis is a GUI interface for AmiTCP.
I want to start AmiTCP from command line cause Genesis needs a lot of FAST RAM which I don't want to spend. I have only 2.6MB FAST left at boot-up from my 4MB which my board supplies. As you can imagine I need every KB I can spare!
Thanks in advance

IIRC - there is an option somewhere that will auto-online Genesis and never show the GUI. Then I don't think Genesis will use much more memory than AmiTCP, since it's basically the same stack.

I agree, the stack is the same but the GUI demands an extra amount of FAST anyway

ahh, ok then....
mfilos, I'm doing this on my A3000. I'm not sure though if it really opens the GUI or not (I was thinking more like just starting the stack manually when we talked about it yesterday), but anyway....
Do as fx suggests. There is an option somewhere to disable the GUI, I'll check when I get home, and put genesis in your wbstartup folder if you'd like it to open each time you boot.
We'll talk about this in the channel ;-)

I think running Genesis at all is a bad idea as it might load the GUI even if it does not open it. Try to run AmiTCP:Kernel/AmiTCP resp. AmiTCP:Kernel/AmiTCP.020.
Bye,
