Title: IBrowse Error message #8000000D ????
Post by: dvvrue95 on November 27, 2005, 08:22:03 PM
Hi folks,

anyone using IBrowse 2.3 with MiamiDX and if so can you help out with an interpret of this error message.

I have recently installed MiamiDx and Ibrowse on a 1200HD + 68030(40Mhz) with 64Mb fast ram and running WB 3.0.

I also use YAM 2.4 for email which appears to work fine with MiamiDX.

However when I run IBrowse and try to access web pages I can get so far with the IBrowse window updating the relevant Http link and then I rx this error message (have option set to display error messages as requesters) usually with an option to reboot or suspend. Ocassionally I also get a dreaded "guru error" 0100 000F which I can sometimes recover from by pressing the left mouse button.
I have tried checking through the setup of IBrowse but since there does not appear to be a listing of error messages (unless you know differently?) its a bit difficult to try to find the right area to check through.
I have also posted a request in the Ibrowse site about this error messagebut have just rxd an automated response ack. the message.

many thanks, Ian

Increase stack size. These crashes are caused by stack overflow.

Bye,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

sorry about delay in getting back on this one ........ something to do with white stuff falling out of the sky and getting stuck in the hills .. anyway used Tool Manager to increase stack size for iBrowse and Miami which appears to have steadied things.
Now for the next challenge(opportunity)
http://www.amiga.org/uploads/smil402e47bbcd151.gifto set up Ibrowse/Miami to access HTTPS sites. Have followed docs in Miami but does not appear to work 'cause I can't seem to get the registration keys to "lock into" Miami ... ah well if its snowing again it will keep me busy.

thanks, Ian
Title: Re: IBrowse Error message #8000000D ???? or hard disk error?

Hi there Thomas (and others),

well I'm not so sure that increasing the stack size did really help, because I am now getting a different system error.

My hard drive is partitioned :-

dh0: system 25M
start cylinder 1
end cylinder 156

dh1: work 136M
start cylinder 157
end cylinder 979

After switching on my 1200 the other night my hard drive booted but "whirred" for a long time and I rxd. a system error message:-
Work has a checksum error on block 39179

and when I try to access any programs on Work i get another system message:-
volume Work is not validated

If I click cancel on this message about three times I can usually access the prgram I was after.
Also if I double click on the Work icon or use DW to examine Work the info bar indicates a volume which is full at 136m which I know is not the case.

I have used HDToolbox, Verify data on drive option but this just comes back with no errors found.
I have also looked at the Modify bad block option but I am not sure how to convert the block (39179) with the checksum error into the format used in this option i.e.
cylinder =
head =
sector = OR bytes from Index =
The drive in question is a WD caviar lite 170

I'm not sure why the HD Toolbox can't find any errors on the drive or even if I can enter the data for the bad block in the correct format it will resolve the problem.

Any help with using HD Toolbox or validating Work or this problem in general much appreciated
