Title: WHDLoad error message running PAL games on NTSC
Post by: ErrethAkbe on November 27, 2005, 01:58:39 AM
Hi all,

I am trying to run a few games that were written for PAL systems on my NTSC A2000. A good example is SWIV.

If I run the game in NTSC it works but of course the bottom of the screen is cut off. If I set the machine to PAL mode and start the game, or try using "PAL" as a tooltype, I get the following error:

Error In Display Initialisation

Possible Reasons:

1. Screen will be promoted
2. PAL/NTSC/DBLPAL/DBLNTSC monitor not installed
3. Not Enough free store

What does this mean?

I am running WHDLoad 16.4 on a 2000 with an 030 and scandoubler but no fancy graphics card.

Thanks for any info!

Go to SYS:Storage/Monitors
Drag over the "PAL" monitor driver to SYS:Devs/Monitors
Reboot the system.
Try the game now, but make sure that PAL tooltype is specified.
That's it. :-)

Brilliant!

That fixed the problem, thanks so much!

I can't believe how easy that was.
