I have a GVP 030/40mhz Accelerator for Amiga 2000. It's the all in one that has the SCSI and HDD Mount. It has 8mb ram on it. I'm basically looking to swap it for an accelerator WITHOUT the SCSI Option as I already have a nice Controller card in my A2000 which is all set up and working nicely.
Strange request I know but if you have an 030 card and want to swap then just let me know!

You've got PM.

May I ask why you dont make things easy for you and just move the scsi-chain to the GVP controller (which is better than any Zorro2 controller), or if that for some reason doesnt appeal to you - just disable the GVPs controller?

I did try transferring my existing drive over to it and all I got were constant 'software error' crashes. The thing works fine with the spare 120mb drive I have but I can't get it to work with the 3GB one. Plus, the combo takes one of the PSU power plugs in such a way that the cable will no longer reach to the CD-Rom drive. These are hassles that I just can't be bothered to fix.
Basically, I like my A2000 the way it is and just want to slip in an accelartor and be done with it.
If there's no interest here in a trade then i guess I will throw it on Ebay and use the cash to buy an accelarator at a later date.

@Chubbyrain:
What about buying a powerplug splitter/extender (available at most computer stores) and disabling the GVPs scsi? That just has to be much less work than selling your current accelerator and getting another one at a later point.
Just out of curiousity, what is your current scsi-controller?

I'd be interested in buying that GVP card as I am currently looking for an A2000 accelerator card. Let me know if you decide to sell it. Is it a revision 3 or 4 (it should be printed on the card somewhere).

Don't let toolmaster hear you say that! "The A2091 is the besterest ever, mil spec card ever made for any purpose for all time and only works in the flagship, besterest ever mil spec amiga! Everything else sucks!"

chubbyrain,
I had similar problems (3 hard drives and CDROM drive inside an A2000). I just got a power splitter/adapter 'Y' - scavenged from an older PC - and a 5' long SCSI ribbon cable, squeezed on a couple extra connectors and it works like a charm.

It's revision 4. The chip on it says 4.5.
Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. Rather than disable 50% of the cards functionality or spend hours trying to figure out why it doesn't like my 3GB drive, I'm going to put it up on Ebay. Since I got my mac, I'm just used to stuff working with the minimum of fuss. I'm just an impatient old codger these days. Besides, I could use the $100 or so I paid for it right now. Too many Christmas presents to buy!
Thanks again for all the helpful advice! This is a great community.
