Title: Hello :)
Post by: Eclipse on November 23, 2005, 07:49:39 PM
Hi,
I'm from the UK and have just (Re)purchased and A600HD.
I will be looking for a few upgrades and putting games back onto disk for the Amiga.
Here comes my childhood again. I used to skive off school and play SWOS for hours. I'm not bitter though, I don't blame the Amiga for my exam failures  :-)

You mean you bought the same Amiga that you used to own?

Anyways, welcome back. :-D

The easiest way of putting amiga disk images back on floppies, is using a null modem cable and cloantos amigaexplorer for windows.

Amiduffer, no not literally.

Thanks for the null modem advice. I've read around the forum and it doesn't look too difficult.

All I need now is to get hold of some extra RAM.

What do you mean by that?
I bought my A600 from eBay. The next mini-upgrade was the 1MB Chip Expansion which I bought again from eBay.
Next step was the 3.2HD that I bought here in Greece along with the 2.5 to 2x2.5 cable.
I also purchased from eBay the 3.1 Kickstart 3.1 ROM, the 3Com PCMCIA NIC and the Compact Flash to IDE Adapter which I use as a slave (Amiga Formated) HD. The serious upgrade though came from www.animart.pl where I got the M-Tec 630 (68030@42Mhz, 68882@40Mhz FPU, 4MB Fast).
My latest addition to my miggy was the Cocolino from Vesalia which I hacked. (I removed the serial jack and connected via short cables the Cocolino PCB to the Motherboard. The case now has left to the original mouse port an PS/2 interface!!!)
As for software I used the AmigaOS3.9 with BB1 & BB2 despite my worries that it wouldn't run on a miggy with only 4MB of Fast RAM.
The A600 runs perfectly and very fast and I couldn't be happier! The CF is used for data exchange with my laptop using UAE (via mounting the CF as an Amiga HD!)
You can see in the images section 3 pictures of my setup. (before I buy the cocolino)
I hope you got what you've asked :-)
If you have a question feel free to ask

Thanks to everyone who said hello.
Mifilos, yeah that's basically what I wanted to know. I just need to brush up on my Polish to read that website.

@eclipse

You don't need to learn Polish!
You only have to write an email to Animart (In plain English as I did!)

Good luck
