I'm getting an amiga 1200 which I'd like to expand.
What is a reasonable price for a used Blizzard 1230 mk IV?

Depends on how much memory you want on it. I have sold one with 128 Mb for 140 Euro, one for 120 Euro and my last one for 100 Euro, all started at 1 Euro or GBP, which is the lowest :lol:
EDIT : I´ve got THIS BLIZZARD 1230/4 + 128 Mb (http://cgi.benl.ebay.be/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8722075494&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1) on Ebay at the moment, started at 1 AUD. If you need to know how much people bid then just follow the auction :-)

I'm allways amazed by the sums people are willing to pay.
I would have thought more into the direction of 50 EUR. As long as there isn't a 128 MB Module included the installed memory shouldn't make any prizedifference, maybe 2-3 EUR if it is 32 MB.

I bought mine with 32mb ram for about 53 € a few months ago. It doesn't have fpu though.

The Blizzard1230 is the best 030 turbo out there but it hardly qualify it to go much over 50€ if you ask me. A different 030 board could do just as well for most parts. If you want extra speed over other 1230 cards you need to go for one with 040 (not recomended for A1200 desctops) or 060 CPU to notice any big difference.
I actually have a B1230MK4 as a spare in case my B1260 should fail, but the only reason for that is I have the BlizzardSCSI module and it fits both cards.

If you stear clear of Apollo1230's (due to incompability with som A1200 motherboards), GVP 1230's (due to their use of special mems that are impossible to find at a fair price) and any 1230 card that doesn't support at least 64Mb mem you'll probably do just fine.
Find out if you need SCSI option as some doesn't have this and some are extremly hard to get.
Next thing to considder is FPU, but to be honest most of us don't need it so unless you know you're going to use alot of math intensive programs just ignore it and see it as a bonus if it's included. Most software doesn't benefit from the FPU and even those that do doesn't have much to gain from a 68882 FPU.
Remember that even a "slow" 28Mhz 030 is still about 6 times the speed of a stock A1200 and it will deffinitly be noticed. The 50Mhz do give even more boost but it's not nearly as much as you might expect. What I'm getting at here is that you might not have to look blindly on a 50Mhz card... if you need some extra speed 28 or 33Mhz will most deffinitly do and even if you need some more speed a 40Mhz card will do almost as good as the topend.
Remember this is my oppinion.. others might have othre oppinions about the issue.

I sold my Blizzard 1230 IV 50/MMU/FPU/32 for not more than €45, more than that, to be honest, I find rather expensive.
The 030 based accelerator cards are the ones, I believe, that have sold the most and they are not that rare. Most A1200:s I've seen being sold, second hand, over here in Sweden comes with one...
I might be wrong here, but my experience tells me otherwise.
