The situation:
I have a Canon BJC-4300 connected to my A4000, and a PC connected to the AMiGA with a ETH cable. I want to print pages from the PC to the Amiga printer through samba v. 2.2.5 . It is setup and runnning, the problem is the following:
When i start the XP Home wizard to lookup for the printer, it is found, but the driver requester won't pop up (notice that a few months ago, it was perfect with another PC and WinXP Pro -the requester appeared, I selected the appropriate driver, and everything worked great- ).
In the log file:
WARNING: The "printer driver"option is deprecated
Any ideas what's going on?

I think I found something at last, but still I cannot access the printer.
The problem lied to the newset version of SAMBA, which is made for compatibility whith the modes of sharing devices & drivers through NT/XP systems.
The culprit was the following line in my smb.comf file:
printer driver = Canon_BJC-4300
By deleting this, the drivers window poped up, and I selected the appropriate driver for the printer.
The problem now is that I cannot access the printer, access is not granted?!
Any new trivial parameter to the Amiga version of SAMBA 2.2.5 ?
Please feel free to enlighten me, thanks in advance.

Problem finally solved!
I `ve downgraded to SAMBA v. 2.0.7 and everything is just fine : I didn`t mess with the settings, I`ve only copied the install directory (swat & bin) over the SAMBA: assign.
Peace of mind at last!
