Title: AMiGA keyboard in an Inifinitiv tower == possible???
Post by: SuperTurbo on November 12, 2005, 03:17:31 PM
I recently bought an amiga technologies keyboard for my A1200 with an Infinitiv tower. The keyboard have a DIN connector so Im using a DIN to PS/2 converter. The problem is that the keyboard doesnt work at all, even though it has power (the caps lock led is working). Im quite sure I´ve heard it should be possible to connect an Amiga keyboard to this tower... or am I just mistaken???

The Infinitiv I tower (plastic) has an inbuard PC-Keyboardadapter, so you could only connect PC-Keyboards to the PS2 connector onthe back. Only exectin ist the kit from Micronic that lets you use your original A1200 keyboard. This kits includes an Amigakeyboardadapter -> it turns the A1200 Keyboard into a PC-keyboard.

oh no... that means I have to buy a new keyboardadapter since the original one has a very annoying bug that allows only 2 buttons to be pressed at the same time...  :-(

Yeah... the keyoboard controller in the Infinitiv is pretty bad. The good news is that you can use the adapted A1200 keyboard on PC systems - though that adaptor controller isn't that good either (the key repeat rate is highly variable).
