I see that the A3000 has the same type of Keyboard connector as the Old PC keyboards (non-PS2, the older fat style).
Will one of these work on an A3000? If so do I need special software to emulate the Amiga keys or anything else?

PC Keyboard on A3000 won't work. You need to buy a PC to Amiga keyboard adaptar. Have a look at this Lyra Keyboard adapter (http://www.vesalia.de/?V02b0f1451564112735d5b55520b5e5b470710494856501002180b480b4572120876766c34323e756e0c0a2c657f2e392c1c293b6964206b6c7b3a362d0719193a5b535211700f67484347560869584e455039685b5272565d1f65105f5c07365d6a606970277669736c5c63607d7a344361713d677d6e3f64697b1).

Hi,
I've got the guts from a KB-10 PC to Amiga keyboard adapter up on eBay right now. Once complete, you to plug in a AT (large 5 pin DIN) keyboard or small PS/2 mini-DIN connector on the input side and output could be a the DIN connector to the A3000. This is the bare motherboard so you would need to solder the wires on to get the keyboard connectors you wish. So, if you are handy with a soldering iron, you could consider it a kit project. I can send a wiring diagram if you want.
Have a look!
