Title: Is the development of the nuclear bomb a benefit to mankind?

I'd say it is, as it has acted as a deterrent for the start of big wars, and would likley ensure if one did occur, it would end quickly. Very quickly.

But on the other hand, instead of straight up combat, terrorism has taken it's place  :pissed:
