I'm looking for a pci video card that can do dvd/mpeg2 playback and has either composite or svideo outputs.
My system has a 233MHz pentium 1 (it seems some cards/drivers won't work with older cpus).
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
An ATI "All-in-Wonder" PCI version had DVD decoding capabilities but I think the software I had only ran under Win9x. They have RF/Composite/S-Video in/out via breakout cables. If you're interested I can have a look around to see if I've still got one.

Look for a Hollywood DVD card -- I had one in a P200 years ago and it was flawless for playing DVD's. Really nice quality and it does have svideo outputs and also spdif out I think.

The creative line of DVD drives with the DXr3 and Dxr2 decoder
cards also work well. They were basically rebranded Hollywood
cards. I can't vouch for the dxr2, but I did have the dxr3 card
which worked well. Just make sure you have software that
supports the card. These cards also like to have its own IRQ.
YMMV, but I got the best results when the decoder card didn't
share with another device.
