I disagree.
If KITT was truely intelligent it would have tried to run over David Hasslehoff at every oportunity, or maybe 'forget' to open the sunroof whenever he used the ejector seat.
Or maybe the car was just plain evil and wanted the world to suffer?

KITT was a customized 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am. The 1982 model year was the first year of the third-generation (1982-1992) F-bodies (Cevrolet's Camaro and Pontiac's Firebird share the same platform). George Barris's company, who had previously done the TV Batmobile, Green Hornet's Black Beauty, Munster's Coach, etc. did the customizing work.
Pontiac, who supplied the Trans Am for the series, found itself swamped with customer requests for black Firebird Trans Ams with T-tops, tan interiors, and red lights on the front bumper, just like the show car.

I managed to read the original form of this post in the 20 sec interval before it got edited. It was something like a complaint against amigakit I believe. Somehow he found the item he ordered in his mailbox just after he posted this, or amigakit replied to him in lightspeed, so he edited the post.
