Title: SANA2 driver
Post by: Beowulf on October 31, 2005, 07:29:50 AM
Hi

I have a ethernet card for my A1200.
I was wondering which SANA2 driver i need. There are a few on aminet but they seem to be for specific cards and configerations.
Do I need the generic SANA2 ppp device driver or something else?

It is a Pretec 10BaseT pcmcia LAN card.
The cnet device site said it is supported by the latest cnet device driver.

Hi, I also have one question concerning this thing. I have a 3Com Ethernet NIC (5869) which plays alright with it's bootable floppy (AmiTCP Installed in a specific IP address). I tried installing the NIC using Genesis on OS 3.9 but the Wizard tells me that It can't open the device. I used 3c5869.device and cnet.device with no success.
I know that the bootable disk uses the 3c5869.device and runs perfectly? Does anyone know what to do?

The cnet.device is a SANA-II driver, that is all you need. PPP is only for dial-up.

@ mfilos

I believe the 3com device also needs pccard.library in LIBS:. It should be included in the archive.

It's probably just a typo in your post, but the driver's name is 3c589.device. Also, make sure it's in your DEVS:Networks directory.
