@orange

What other methods of payment do you use for international purchases via eBay, then?

I'm pretty flexible and accommodating...

well nothing! I only managed to buy one thing from ebay. In the end I've agreed with seller to give him Amazon gift voucher (Amazon accepts my Visa) but it was a small amount (5pounds for Amiga game). I did manage to buy some things from vesalia using direct bank transfer, but those were also smaller amounts. it wouldn't work for something pricey like turbo card. hopefully google will start its paypal, cant wait..  :-)

I have to dissagree... I don't want it. Some might be cuase I currently don't own an A2000 but mostly I think it's cause I've seen what trouble it can give you when going for other expensions. Not gonna rag down on it anymore though, after all it was the first 040 for the Amiga right? Now had you said DKB's wildfire I would've been all over it and had my A500 hacked up in notime just to use it. ;)

Could you explain more what kind of problem you had with this card, what were the other boards?

Could you boot on WB with just the accelerator fitted and kickstart 3.1 or 3.0?

Where did you get this board?

Thanks.

I bought it as part of a working A2000 set up with Picasso-II, Fusion-Forty and HC+8.
The guy I got it from used it for all manner of things - including generating 3D animations of the Isle of Man TT course for video productions.

I tried to get the machine working with a CV64-3D which didn't work, as it needs KS3.1.

I tried to install KS3.1 (which the guy had bought but never got working). The chips were fine, but the accelerator wasn't recognised.

After a lot of investigation, it turns out that you need to update the ROMs on the board - something I didn't have the time or inclination to do, as the machine was bought as a spare; my first "big box" Amiga.

Nobody seemed interested in buying the whole kit-and-kaboodle together, so I decided to split the boards out - there was a lot of demand for the Picasso-II, so that was shipped off to Canada, and the motherboard was sent to the US.

I'm now left with the shell, the two cards which are advertised, a modulator, and a nest of leads ;-)

The accelerator worked perfectly under 2.0, but it didn't give me the "Amiga experience" to which I'd become accustomed during the daily use of my PPC A1200...

I've got the very same board, except mine has got the latest V3.4 ROMs on it and 32MB fast RAM. I have been using this board with OS3.9 and kickstart 3.1 without any problems. Only certain versions of 68040.library work with it but it wasn't too difficult to get it working properly.
What I dislike about it is the noisy CPU fan, and the amount of heat the board generates.

I actually have one of these boards and use it fine without the latest version of the plug and go roms and 3.1 amiga roms. All you need to do is hold down the right mouse button (I think I do it by muscle memory so its hard for me to remember) and it will bring up a menu. Just click Nofastboot and then use the setff program to set all the board varibles in your startup script.

Sure its annoying on boot but the card has worked great for me with this one little problem.

I just won a Fusion Forty card from ebay, I hope it works. And I hope it has the latest Plug'N Go Roms!  If it does I will make a image and offer the update to any user that needs it so that they can get it to work with Kick 3.1!  Anyone know what type of EPROM the 4 ROMs are?  I assume 27C256

I need to update my Fusion Forty EPROMS as well so that I can update my A2000 to Kickstart 3.1. If anyone knows where to get updated images/files of these EPROMS for the Fusion Forty, I really would appreciate to know. :-)

Well once I figure out what version mine are I can make/burn you a set!  Maybe you can help me troubleshoot my card.  When I boot up it says it is in 68000 mode still.  Do I need to run a program at startup to make it enter 68040 mode?  I know I need 68040.library but is there something else?  (ie if I boot and do not run anything, no startup-sequence, and run a CPU id tool like SysInfo it says I have a 68000)  This normal with this card?

I would appreciate that. I just got the Fusion Forty yesterday, and unfortunately it has Version 2.5 EPROMS which has stopped me from installing new Kickstart 3.1 EPROM into A2000. The Fusion Forty was in a used A2000 that I bought. I have been trying to clean up the A2000 before I powered it on. I do know that there is a switch wired to the back of my Fusion Forty to enable/disable 68040 mode. This switch can force Fusion Forty into 68000 A2000 mode. This is described here:

http://www.cucug.org/amiga/amiinfo/reviews/FusionForty.txt

Also, I did check this link out for some Fusion Forty software updates including a request for updated EPROMS:
