Hallo again,
I'm hoping on getting a M-Tec 020 for one of my A500, out of ebay. In the big book of A HW says that they run at 14.x MHz and that they support just 1 or 4 MB.
I'd like to know if they can be overclocked (it is not clear if they get the clock out of the 7MHz 68000 clock line or no), and if the memory can may be upped to 8MB (I have a 72 pin 8MB SIMM from an old pc).
Maybe for a little more money, would be better to get an A1200... but my gf may be would kick me out (we already have 3 pcs and 2 A500s ... ;-) my place just starts to look like a place where I feel comfortable, sure you know what I mean...).

I'm not sure if it's possible to hack that particular card however personally I wouldn't even bother because the benifits would be so limited, I'd instead put one of the A500's up on ebay and use the money toward buying a reasonable priced 1200, which is easy to upgrade and can be hacked to your hearts content. And also have other benefits such as the AGA chipset that let you play all the newer games too.

Hi
Just a word of cution. If you plan on using a hard drive with the mTec , e.g. A590, they don't play to nicly with each other. Ive still got to get the RAM configured right on mine (just gotta find the time). I don't want to put you off but I just thought you should know.

toca180:
Thanks for the advice. I currently have only 2 A500 1MB chip, with nothing more, no A590, no HD, nothing (not even mouse or joystick ;-) !). So I'm not that worried _now_. But I'd like to have a HD in my amiga... but being able to boot from HD would be just great. (Or from Flash if that were possible... :-D )
