which version of lzx is "most reliable"? I need an reliable archiver for a very large file (~200Mb), should I use Lha?

I've never had problems with LZX 1.21r (with free keyfile).  But, I haven't tried any files that large.

To compress one single file I would use gzip. It's meant for this kind of jobs.

The LhA versions available on Aminet (2.1 and 2.2 IIRC) are buggy. You should not use them. LZX is better.

lzx is ok.

If you have the cpu power and memory, bzip2 should give the best compression ratio, though.

You should use lha 1.x (Stefan Boberg rulez 4ever! :)
or some zip proggy.

If u want reliability then u must avoid lha 2.x and all versions of lzx.

You have been warned.
