Just wondering if anyone knew of any decent octamed5 online manuals/tutorials?
The one on the amiga format magazine cover disk i have doesnt seem to work and the one you can get from the octamed site doesnt seem to mention the synth sounds at all(which is where i need the help!)

There is some documentation on the AmigaGuide that came with OctaMed Soundstudio 1.03 (BTW Soundstudio is a sequel to OctaMed).
The general idea is that there are a series of short samples in a synthsound. There is a command editor that lets you switch between the samples at single tick intervals and another command editor that modifies the envelope volume.
At first I thought the SynthSound editor would save memory on samples but usually there have to be enough in-between samples to make the sound smooth that it takes as much memory as a regular sample anyway.

If you want to play with some interesting synthsounds on the old miggy, give MusicLine Editor a spin. It has a rather better synthsound potential, including filters etc.

mello there Jellica, you're more than welcome to come over and i'll show you what i've worked out so far. email me and we'll arrange a good time. My studio's pretty much all up and running now, although using octamed on its own makes it all a bit redundant... Oh yeah, i got quite a few tunes to upload too.
EDIT: Oh yeah, it's me Margaret Scratcher... :-)

yeah i already got the one that comes with soundstudio, cant seem to find the info i need in it!

I converted it from amiga so I could print it out and view on pc too.
Has a big section on the synth editor in here, with all the programming variables etc..
Have Fun....

Here (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/MED_Soundstudio_Amiga_Platform_Only/?yguid=158431760) is the Yahoo! group that will give you a link to the download site when you join (assuming you set email responses enabled when you sign up). If you don't want email enabled, read message.txt from the files area on the web interface.

The link provided:

Only redirects to the main website on Doctor Who.

Did you try clicking on the word "Here" on my previous post? It will link you to the Amiga Med Soundstudio mailing list. The given documentation is in AmigaGuide format, however. If you want it in HTML you'll have to convert it.
-
SamuraiCrow: have you got a link for the AmigaGuide to HTML converter? the one at Safalra.com seems to be down...thanks :-)

Here's one. (http://dk.aminet.net/util/conv/g2h.lha) There are several on the Aminet servers.

Many thanks for this :-)
Do you by any chance have a copy of the manual for Octamed v4? Any format would do.
Thanks in advance

Sorry for the crazy necro-bump, but is this file still available anywhere? All the current links are dead, thanks!
