There use to be a Starfield Background hack for WB a looong time ago. I believe it was OCS/ECS only, maybe AGA, but I seem to remember not being able to get it to work on my A1200, can't remeber though. Anyway, does anyone know of something similar for a P96 Workbench?

Starfield background? That one where the desktop was flying in the starfield? It probably used dual playfield screen mode not possible on gfx card...

I doubt it used dual playfield mode ;-) but it probably used hardware sprites. On the Amiga chipset, you can make a beautiful parallax scrolling starfield with only one sprite (re-using the same sprite at different points in the display courtesy of the copper). But, true, it's definitely not possible on a gfx card.

Regarding your avatar image, could I also have some copper bars on the desktop, please?-)

So you're saying that a graphics chip set made more than 20 years ago is more capable than those made to day? ;-)
Is there a program out there that will change the BG image after a certain amount of time, say 5 minutes? Maybe then I could make a series of about 30 starfield images that change. It could be the worlds slowest Starfield animation!
Damn, again, only Amiga makes it possible!
