Title: Can´t find ram
Post by: LuisTHE on October 07, 2005, 08:52:08 PM

When i boot my amiga,i get a message saying "Can´t find ram",this started to happen after i installed VincED from www.aminet.net,since i haven´t changed any of the original
assigns from startup-sequence,i really don´t know what could be causing this.Any ideas?

What is the full error? Does it appear in a dialog box, or as text in a shell window? Can you get past the error to Workbench? If you can, can you see the ram disk?

There must be a change to your startup-sequence and a bad assign. Look at the startup-sequence to see what assigns have been added.

It is a text message in the shell at boot up,not a requester.

Since i rarely touch the Startup-Sequence,i don´t know exactly what i am looking for, what is the normal assign for ram?

Can you post your startup-sequence?

Did you change the default preferences (did you change anything with SetVNC?)

I think something badly-configured is trying to access Ram Disk:

The problem is that someone forgot to put quotes around Ram Disk: It should be "Ram Disk:"

Check your startup-sequence or VNC config files for such a mistake. You can either add the quotes, or change it to RAM:
