I tried to slot my laptops network card into my a1200 and i didn`t seem to slot in .. it fits but i`m afraid to force it in .

Do you have to push them in hard ?

The case can sometimes get misaligned with the motherboard, and the plastic will push against the card. Have you tried pressing gently on the case as you insert the card?

I tried to put a Netgear MA521 wireless netwok card in my 1200 without success.

Then I got a MA401, which I know the amiga can use.

When I compared them, the 521 had a large ridge on the inserted end, compared to a narrower lump on the 401. I presume this is to stop you fitting a 3.3 volt card in a 5 volt pcmcia slot?

Probably a Cardbus card or something.
