Yes and yes. That is if you find a CyberstormPPC card.

As I understand, it is not possible to run AOS4.0 on any other hardware except AmigaONE, because of a chip which is implemented on motherboard. The AmigaOS is checking is chip implemented or not, and regards of that it is going to be installed or not. If I am wrong, I hope somebody else is having a better explanation.

@levelLord

Ring  ..... (ri(ght) & (wro)ng)  :-D  :-D

OS4 will/might/should/??? come in 2 versions:

One that will only run on the A1, and nothing else.

One that will run on "real" Amigas with a CyberstormPPC or
BlizzardPPC.

levelLORD,

methinks you have misunderstood -
AOS4.0 will be released on the CyberstormPPC first.

swiftly followed by the AmigaOne version,
with BlizzardPPC following on.

the chip you are on about is the Firmware based portions of AmigaOS required to run OS4. for Classic Amigas such as the aforementioned A4000, this code is included within the Kickstart ROM.

hope that clears this up !

Hi!

That is cool, thanks for explaining that! Do you know where can I read about that, any links or  something...? For booting AOS4 on classic Amiga hardware?

Thanks and regards,
