Title: Amiga 500 problem
Post by: Henkie on September 30, 2005, 08:56:12 PM
Hello,

I have the following problem when i put the power on on my Amiga 500 i get a white screen on the tv. I put muyworkbench disk in. The disklight turns green hums 2 times and stops. So the amiga isn't booted. But the strange thing this morning when i wanted to connect him to a other tv he loaded very long. But i saw no picture because the tv didn't use rgb. So i brought him to my gf's home and tried it there and there was a white pic but he doesn't load. Can it be because i moved him sideways i a bag.  What can be wrong. Can it be that my disk is corrupted because i placed the Amiga on my tv?

You say the disk drive hums 2 times then stops? sounds like your Workbench disk has gone bad.

I have put other disks into the drive (games) but the only thing you see is a white screen. And they hun twice to and then stop.

I have never seen the kickstart screen only a total white screen. He loads now for a long time but when he stops the screen is still white.

Hola, may need to open her up, and press gently but firmly on to the socketed chips that are there...

may just be a poor contact...

Another thing I would mention ...

Setting your A500 on top of the TV is not a very good
idea. I would think the combined heat from the A500 and
the TV would eventually do damage to the A500. Maybe it
already has ...
