Cause apparantly we are all trolls with no sense of humor.

Unlike that other site... hmmm. I can't even remember the name but it's various Amiga trolls, trying to be funny.
Wayne
and from cecilia:
Oh, yeah, THAT one. Rolling Eyes
jesus, they really have NO sense of humor on that site. it's like a bunch of "inside" nonjokes that only those fellas think are funny.
and you desperately WANT something to be funny, but it all falls flat.
and it's not like there's not a TON of amiga history that can't be satirized.

I was suprised to see that this wasn't another one of Narayan's generic posts, although I have to admit that the style and overall sense of the post is equal to his level...e.g. huh!?

Best Amiga joke?
Commodore management?
Well, it didn't have to be a funny joke did it?

It's more likely a perfect example of mdma wondering who'll be first to take the bait. You win i suspect.

"19th March 2000. The new prototype is in the process of being tested. The laborious task of powering it up in stages, developing additional logic to support features and making sure everything works as intended is under way. I am expecting 2-4 months of development time before it is at the stage where it can be release for production." -Mick Tinker

Oh, abuse. The last line of defence of a troll. Geees, you are a really boring one.
-
The ST, PC and Macs are just as good because they have "software sprites".
Bwahahahahaha. For a bigger laugh look at how the kiddies ruined the correct and proper definition of sprite at Wikipedia. I guess every character that scrolls up your screen is a sprite as far as these morons are concerned.

Heck, if you don't like the description on wikipedia then why not change the article :-?.

I still have yet to hear your masterful definition of a sprite. I really don't see much of a fundamental difference between a processor writing a character into a framebuffer and a piece of dedicated hardware writing into a linebuffer (and don't give me that Amiga's don't use linebuffers line because at the very least the Nyx prototype did). Sure all things being equal, the system with dedicated hardware will have better performance, but I don't see how that makes the two fundamentally different.

I doubt anyone ever will hear it.

Maybe, but I get sex on a regular basis, have an interesting and satisfying job, a beautiful, healthy and intelligent son, and a loving family.
You have a broken motherboard I believe.

hardware sprites really are a big deal if you are programming a game. making a game on a pc back in the day with lots of objects on screen was a paing in the butt, on the amiga and other hardware based sprite systems it is simple. set up the data set pointers and turn them on move as necissary without worring about backgrounds or forgrounds. (btw i havent programmed much on the amiga but i did on the c64 which has a similar but more limited system spritewise)

A very poor blue troll at that...
Taken in context, which is something you miserably failed to do (but amazingly I'm not surprised), I and others were speaking of Wrongpla.net -- which I have yet to find funny in the least -- NOT of Amiga.org...
Thanks for playing... See Guido for your prize on the way out...
[edit : I should include several :-D :-) :-P  just to let everyone know how humorously I take this thread. As always, if you have a question about me, or something I said, I'm usually the best person to ask, unless your intent is just to troll a bit]
