Title: Is it possible to use a Parallel SuperDisk drive with A4k
Post by: justthatgood on September 29, 2005, 12:02:56 AM
I have one of these things, and I'm thinking about trying it.    Either that or I'm gonna have to get rid of the stuff.  Does this suffer the same problems as the Zip Drive does, because of the port.

Hi,

As you're probably aware, parallel port Zip drives require specific drivers (e.g. created by an Amiga user and not by Iomega) and a small modification to take a couple of extra lines from one of the Amiga's joystick ports.

AFAIK, there are no parallel port SuperDisk drivers for the Amiga, so it won't be usable.

Since I've never seen one, I can ony guess, but there's a high probability that there's an IDE drive inside the case with just a IDE-to-parallel adapter.
