Title: Hard Drive Failure?
Post by: halzark on September 24, 2005, 03:26:59 PM
Hi,

My amiga 2000 apparently will not boot from the harddrive anymore.

It was working fine, then last night I turned it on and it was asking for a boot disk I guess... (haven't seen that screen in forever.)

Is the HD gone? Is there a way to test it?

What now? :boohoo:  :-?

Boot with the install floppy for your hd controller. Run it's install program. It should tell you if it sees a hard drive out there.

Then there's the usual advice... check all card & cable seating.

The driver diskette for the hard drive controller. You could also try booting workbench from floppies and see if the hard drive icons show up.

Welcome to amiga.org by the way.  :-)
