Title: trouble using disk2fdi
Post by: on March 25, 2003, 07:13:56 AM
Hi,
I am having some trouble converting my amiga disks
to the .adf format with disk2fdi.
I have two drives but it keeps telling me the disk is
not formatted have tried all the various switches
and different disks.
One worked but started pausing around track 80
and the game from it stuffed up

can anyone give me some advise ?

Is the candidate disk  an AmigaDOS formatted disk?

I recall, "YADI" only runs on the Amiga Classic platform....

Disk2FDI is the utility to read Amiga formatted disks on the X86 PC, without any specific hardware extension (except a second disk drive unit).

I've never had many problems with disk2fdi.  Is the disk a standard Amiga-formatted disk?  And are you sure it's 100% OK (works absolutely fine on a normal Amiga).  The only switch you need to use is /s (I think).

Also, how are you running it?  Aparently you can run it from win9x OK, but if you use 2000/NT/XP you need to boot to a DOS prompt (ie use a startup disk).
