My idea:
1. Troika Mini ITX board with fanless PowerPC.
2. +12V to ATX power supply DC-DC converter (off the shelf).
3. Small sealed motor/car Battery (off the shelf).
Is it possible to create DIY Mini ITX PowerPC Laptop?
ECS had released X86 barebone laptop (desknote) with changable CPU.
Is it possible to create PowerPC 405 SOC modules for ECS barebone laptop?

I think it would work with a Troika board but remember it's using a PowerPC 750 series processor. The PowerPC 405-based PDA is a separate project. I'm eagerly waiting the new TroikaNG.com website on the 24th of September.
As for the X86 barebone laptop I don't think it is possible to drop in a PowerPC 405 module due to endian dependancies and bus-timing.

If you see the specification, Desknote use SIS System On Chip and combined it with Intel CPU.

Perhaps the module can use similar PowerPC 405 SOC from AMCC / other vendors with built in memory controller, Graphics, Sound, Ethernet, USB, Firewire, PCI-E etc. Perhaps there will be external PCIe port /connector for connecting the laptop to external PCIe based peripherals / docking station.

At the SOC's heart is the PowerPC 405B3 core, featuring a 192-MHz 405 core, JTAG, MMU, a 16-Kbyte instruction cache and 8-Kbyte data cache. A laundry list of features is also included: a 3-channel ISDN interface; an LCD controller capable of 32-bit color, XGA resolution, and support for TFT and STN displays; a serial port for an audio codec; I/O pins; a smart card controller; and USB, IrDA, parallel and UART ports. The 5.2 million-transistor 405 core pushes an estimated 292 Dhrystone MIPS, and requires 5.2 million transistors in 0.25-micron CMOS, while totaling 57 sq. mm in size. Wow can you actualy get a ITX laptop case.
maybe you can shove a uA1-c in there.
When i get my uA1-c im gonna get me a iTX laptop case for it.

I thought OS4 only runs on AmigaONE hardware?

It´s also gonna run on Classic PPC Amiga´s and some things of OS4 also run on a Pegasos ...

nothing on the mobo cares about endianism as long as it gets the right data the bios would have to be changed of course so that wouldnt matter and the timing issues would be cleared by glue logic
