Title: BlizzardVision and BlizzardPPC
Post by: crispy on September 11, 2005, 06:27:45 PM
Hi all,

I've just got my amiga running again (running in the loosest sense).  I haven't used it in quite a while and the last time I did, I didn't have a monitor to use the BlizzardVision on - the only display available was a TV.

I must have deleted the BlizzardVision driver by mistake, I can't find it anywhere.  I remember I had CyberGrafx 4 installed...  and I can't find the CDs or disks anywhere.

Now, considering that CyberGrafx 4 isn't free, the original BVPPC driver that came with the card will have to do.

Having trawled the web for most of the day, I can't find the original drivers to get this going...  I wouldn't mind usually as I can't seem to get any graphics driver running at all - Multiscan DBLPAL... any of them...  the only display I can get is PAL, and for some reason, the scandoubler won't work either...  I think that Cybergrafx 4 is causing some problem, the computer freezes when I try a multiscan mode...

When I plug the monitor into the BVPPC, I get emulated PAL output - the same more or less is displayed on the TV.

What can I do to get this going again?  Can anyone provide me some instructions and/or the drivers for the BVPPC?  Perhaps some way to uninstall Cybergrafx 4?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys
Crispy

The original diskette image with CGX V3 drivers for BVision and CVision can be found here (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/drivers/Graphics_Cards/CVisionBVision.dms) in DMS format.

Lando: Thanks for that!  Its working, there are a few glitches, but going for the most part!

DJBase: Unfortunately, I can't read german!  Am I right in thinking that the Cybergraphx (apologies for spelling it incorrectly earlier!) updater will update my system back to CGX4 without a CD?  I can't find mine...

Cheers guys

Im not condoning piracy.  But if you cant  find your original cd.  Just burn a cd with any file on it and name it cybergraphix v4, or something like that.  You will know the name the cd needs to be called  when the installer for the updater asks for it.  Just put that  cd in the driver, and the updater will update your cybergraphix install.  always thought it was a lmam way of making sure you had V4

eh, eh nice try indeed but it doesn't works :-)

The 4.3 Uodate, contains only the patches . .  . eh!

It needs a valid and original CGX4.0 CD (or a Backup)

As long as you have the original cypergraphix for the bvision installed, which was version 2.3, you can use thre free updates to get to the latest version of 3, and the use my trick to udate it to version 4.  Trust me it works
