Yes, this version is for x86 only (although AROS does support more CPU types).

AROS-Max is currently on x86/AMD64 machines.  If there is enough request, I'm sure one of the AROS devs will make available a PPC hosted AROS tarball.

Your alternative of course, is to run a x86 emulator on your PPC.

AROS-MAX runs fine on VirtualPC, so give it a go :-)
