I'm cleaning out the basement and the time has come for me to be parted with my trusty Amiga 1000 that has been gathering dust for quite a few years. I really hate to throw it out since it truly is a classic but I don’t want to store it any longer.
So…if you live in the Madison or Milwaukee Wisconsin area, or are willing to drive to one or the other to pick it up and promise to give it a good home, all of this is free to the first person that wants it. If nobody wants to come pick it up then I would consider shipping it out to someone but since I don’t have the original boxes packing it up would be a pain so you pay shipping plus $20 to make it worth my while to pack it all up. Of course if someone wants to offer real money for this I would gladly accept it. :-)
As far as I know it all works. At least it did before I packed it away. It looks to be in fairly good shape but I could send pictures if needed. I may even hook it up and turn it on tomorrow for old times sake…if so, I’ll post that it works (or not).
What do you get:
Amiga 1000 system purchased within days of its original release in the US.
System unit (I believe it has an Insider daughterboard that adds 1.5Mb)
Original Keyboard
Original Mouse
External Disk Drive
What I believe is the monitor cable (I'll double check tomorrow)
Parallel Printer cable
Sorry NO Monitor (My son uses it for his Nintendo)
Other Stuff
Something that looks like a serial cable (Male DB25 both ends)
Two cheap looking joysticks (I think these were for the Amiga)
Books
Original User Guide Binder with manuals
>Amiga Basic
>Introduction to Amiga
>ABasiC
>Textcraft
Amiga ROM Kernel Reference Manual: Libraries and Devices
Amiga ROM Kernel Reference Manual: Exec
Amiga Intuition Reference Manual
Amiga Hardware Reference Manual
Inside the Amiga by John Thomas Berry
Amiga Programmer’s Handbook by Eugene P, Mortimore
Software (All software original Disks)

Amiga Kickstart

>Version 1.2
>Version 1.3
Amiga Workbench Disks
>No version (presumably 1.0)

Online!

Hi there,
that's a great system you have. You better keep it or sell it on eBay. The books on they own are worth a few bucks.
-
If nobody wants it, i certainly will.
I will pay the shipping to France of course ;) :-)
-
I also would like this one!

Agreed, selling on eBay would be a better idea. If not someones going to get a great system :-)

Thanks for the interest.
I really want to avoid the hassle of Ebay. I would prefer this goes to someone that will appreciate it. It's a little sentimental.
Since it sounds like there is some interest here I think what makes most sense is I'll wait until this weekend (Sunday morning) for someone to offer to pick it up here in Wisconsin. The first one to make that offer gets it.
If nobody can come to pick it up then I would be willing to pack it up and ship it. Since some of you say it's worth some money then feel free to send me a PM with what you would be willing to offer above and beyond the cost of shipping. Sunday morning I'll pack it up and ship it off to the highest offer. If the highest offer is shipping + $1, so be it. I really don’t want to subdivide so it’s all or nothing.

Too bad Wisconsin is a bit too far out of my (and my car's) reach. Isn't there someone in Sweden wanting to get rid of an Amiga? :-P

Tim,
\edit\ Something got cut off here.
My current A1000 is an '030 with 32 megs of 32 bit fast ram (courtesy of a .....) \end edit\
Derringer) 2 meg Chip ram,(courtesyt of a Rejuvenator) flicker-fixed monster. (I have an AmigaOne, too)
If I could arrange to meet you somehow late on Thursday night, (after I get a colleague at Mitchell field) or after my meeting on Friday, I could give it all a good home and some interesting cyberfriends.

I live in Madison and can come and pick it up.

Looks like I have some takers with local pickup and some interest via PM so I think you can consider this one gone. I'll be contacting those who have already contacted me via PM.
Thanks to all for responding.

p.s. I had to turn it on and play one last game of marble madness today at lunch...yes it still works. :-)
