Well I was looking forward to showing MOS running on my A1200 at my usergroup meeting today... but now ive upgraded my ram from 128MB to 192MB MOS no longer boots, it start to boot, then reboots as you would expect but then it falls over and stops booting any further...
Oh well I'll just have to show AOS4 off instead :-)
-
because MOS PuP, supports max 128 MB :-)

Then why not put the 128meg simm back in?

Nice trolling :-|
-
Trolling? With all the MOS users in our amiga websites flaming OS4....... you call this trollling?
-
for a split second it sounded like trolling to me too.
why not put the 128meg stick back in place? I dont run MOS on PuP and even I knew that 128megs was the max supported.
-
@ikir
Two bads don't make one good.
-
I have no idea what MOS and PuP are, but I must ask what you guys define as Trolling? It seems that word means something very different here where I'm from...
-
I'm curious about the reason of limiting MOS for BlizzardPPC to 128MB... not that I care much because I own a CS-PPC, but I'm curious anyway... I'm thinking that maybe MOS doesn't allow to use various banks of non-contiguous memory (for example, on A4000, the motherboard memory and the csppc one...) but it's just an idea.
@Piru:
Could you explain us the real reason of the 128MB limit on classics?
-
Rooster:
from your 45 posts you're fairly new. If you have never heard of MOS or the PuP abbreviation, you're new to the Amiga scene, correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm not going to go into details but if you've posted on this site or 'lurked' on here for quite some time you'd be able to recognize 'flame' threads rather quickly, no matter how well the are disguised. Anyway..back to the topic at hand.
I still havent seen any screen shots or mpegs of this.. anyone run SysInfo on MOS runnin on a PuP setup?
-
I for one know what MOS is but not PuP, a small dog????
-
Pup = PowerUP -> Cyberstorm PPC or Blizzard PPC. ;P
-
EDIT:
sorry
got carreid away
-
samos39: Please no flaming man ...
-
sory didnt realize my opinion turned into one big flame.

You ever visit the gallery on this page? There is a screen shot of MorphOS for PowerUP.
-
Err I was trolling? I didnt think I was...
I just posted a very quick short message letting anyone know who was going to our usergroup meeting specifically to see mos running on the BPPC that they wouldnt be able to.
I also wasnt aware that MOS didnt work with BPPC cards with more than 128MB of ram, I thought MOS just used the first 128 and ignored the rest...
But hey if you want to think I was trolling go right ahead, no skin off of my nose :-)
-
Oh and about putting my old simms back in... for starters as I already said i wasnt aware MOS wouldnt load with more than 128... Im not about to dismantle my machine again just to put the old simms back in just to run mos at a usergroup meeting and finally, I dont have the old ramm any longer, I sent it off to a friend on the same day I upgraded.
-
To pull out the second simm was to hard I guess...

The only grabs i've are this:

Yes it was. If you knew how flaky the bvision connection is on my BPPC card youd understand why I leave it well alone unless I really have to open my case...
One last point.. I hadnt intended to start this new thread, I was meant to post in reply to the existing thread about MOS on the classic... But I {bleep}ed up...
-
@Crumb
are you sure that the 16MB of the A4K are not seen?
I'm not 100% sure but SysSpeed sees it.
What is weir is that the 128 (or so) MB of the CSPPC are seen as 114 or so . . . i'll try later to take a grab.
Oh btw . . . i'm still using CSPPC MapRom and it works.
EDIT- only the 8MB 16 bit on my TBCPlus aren't seen . . .bur heck, how to blame it :-)

Ah yes, PuP. I thought it must be akin to IBM's PoP, only smaller. Then I remembered Phase 5's PowerUp project (I have a CyberstormPPC) but didn't put the two together.
-
Framiga: wow, looks great! do you have any sysinfo stats or aibb?
-
mhhh . . .forget to see SysInfo or AIBB on MOS (its already a mess
under OS3.x and RTG).
Here a SysSpeed output:
Grab
HERE (http://xoomer.virgilio.it/cieffeeditingvideo/MOS/MOS.png)
but are fake result, as the app is a 68K that is benchmarking some
68K emulated apps (i'm still on PFS3)
EDIT- i have problems with the keyboard layuout.
I have no AT (email address) i have รง instead
