Agreed about the music. Doesn't that just make you want to bid?!?

that guy is just so funny, I sure miss him here :)

Lets not go that far. I'm surprised he is not selling "military spec" Ataris. :-)

who the hell is that guy!
does any one know? :inquisitive:

He's really like your average crappy American sitcom. Highly annoying and boring, but you still view it for some weird, twisted reason whenever you happen to spot one while channelstumbling.

it costs less to buy an Atari STE and plug 4mb like i did

Someone has too much free time on their hands! That anim

AS I keep saying, that image was created by x56h34. Doomy pinched it to use in his auctions.

I would not send a screw or a nut to that guy. Search the forum for doommaster.
-
I do not go by "hear-say" or "gossip". Have you ever had any problems with this guy?
-
Mikey : true, listen to Doppie1200. And if you still have doubts, question yourself why Doomy has hidden his feedback score as there is usually only one single reason, that is to hide the negative comments you have received !!! I have read many comments in his list (before it became private) about money that has been sent but from which he says it wasn´t received while the bank said the cheque was being offered. Also ask yourself why he won´t accept PayPal or even bank transfer ?!?! It´s just too fishy if you think about it for a few moments ...
I´ve never had any problems with this guy because I didn´t want to do any business with him after I read his feedback score ...
-
Making your eBay feedback private means nothing. I have seen folks do that with 0 feedback just because they are a private person. Also, I have bought stuff from spenceranne and retrogeek and have never had any problems at all. He is sometimes slow when it comes to shipping, but that is it. I asked retrogeek why he only accepts cash and Postal money orders and this was his responce: "When I first started selling stuff on eBay years ago, I use to accept everything as payment. Then one day I sold this guy a rare black GI Joe for $431.00. He mailed me a money order from his bank and I deposited it into my checking account. Since it was a Bank Money Order, I went ahead and shipped him his GI Joe. The following Friday, I went to my bank and they told me that the guy issued a stop payment on the Bank Money Order. I then went home and emailed the guy to find out what was going on and he never answered any of my emails. So he issued a stop payment on the Bank Money Order and kept the rare black GI Joe. This happened to me again when I sold a rare Matchbox Model of Yesteryear for $317.00. The person issued a stop payment and kept the car. I asked my bank what I could do to keep this from ever happening again and they told me to only accept cash or a Postal money order. A stop payment can not be issued on these two forms of payment. So now, that is what I do".

Yes but, the Atari STe is lower quality then the Atari MegaST. The MegaST is a much nicer computer and has the best keyboard. I should know, I have both machines. Now, the STe does a few things that the MegaST does not do, but if I had to choose one of them, I would pick the MegaST everytime.

I see that x56h34 has his eBay feedback set on private too. Didn't he rip off Doomy?
-
Ah look, he even took the time to create a new account here :-D.
-
Translation= He wants to hide *his* bad feedback.
No, the translation actually = "My feedback is set to private so that other eBay sellers will not "see" my customers and try to steal them away from me".
Why are you such a jerk toward this guy? And your hair looks like a girl. LOL :-D
-
Ah look, he even took the time to create a new account here
Why do you say that ?! :-o
-
Mikey : true, x56h34 has set his feedback score to private. Didn´t know that. But on the other hand, a score of 98,9% doesn´t raise any questions but the 93.5% of retrogeek001 makes me say "no" !!! But the story about that money order is pathetic. There are so many other ways for payment that are very secure and fast and without any doubt, from which PayPal is the most obvious. I have also had bad experience with cheques that never arrived or were never mailed. Therefor I take only ways of payment where both seller and buyer can have proof of payment ..
-

A feedback score above 90% is concidered great feedback. So, 93% would mean that 93 out of 100 are positive feedbacks. Are we just going to ignore those 93 positives and just dwell on the 7 negatives? I THINK NOT! Anyway, the guy states in his auction that most of the few negatives that he received were retaliatory, because he gave them one first. I believe him. Like I said before, I have NEVER had any problems with spenceranne or retrogeek.
-
Then you are one of the lucky ones, but it is generally accepted on Ebay that a feedbackscore of lower than 97% is considered to be not reliable. About those "retaliatory" feedbacks, I have spend some time checking his feedback before it was private, and took time to see where it came from and why it was negative, and I can assure you that most of those negative feedbacks were done BEFORE Doomy "gave them one first" :-o The exact dates behind the feedback told it all without any doubt !!!!
-
In my 6 years of selling on eBay, I have found out that most people do not even look at the feedback. People just do not care or they are lazy. If a seller has what a person wants, they will bid on it. I have many seller accounts on eBay. I have also discovered that the type of people that make such a big deal about the feedback are troublemakers. Personally, I do not trust an eBay seller with a perfect 100% feedback score. It means they are paying eBay to remove the negatives that they did get. EVERY eBay seller is going to get negative feedback, no matter what you do, because you can't please everybody and there are some real petty jerks out there.
-
Effy wrote:

mikey, and that's exactly why your *UHm* his feedback went private ...
-
To Effy:
Did you also look at Doomy's POSITIVE feedbacks? Or, are you one of those people that just like to dwell on the negatives, as if you are so darn perfect yourself, and you are not.
-
Mikey : There´s something I do not understand : "Personally, I do not trust an eBay seller with a perfect 100% feedback score. It means they are paying eBay to remove the negatives that they did get. EVERY eBay seller is going to get negative feedback, no matter what you do, because you can't please everybody and there are some real petty jerks out there." If you have received negative feedback then you can forget about getting your 100% back !! Those who have 100% have NEVER RECEIVED NEGATIVE FEEDBACK !!! But on the other hand it´s true that you can´t please everybody. My own feedback score is also "only" 98,4% but I´m willing to discuss every negative feedback in public as my feedback score is not private. If you have been six years on Ebay then what are your own feedback scores if I may be so curious to ask ??? :-?
EDIT : I am far from perfect, but look at it from another side. If you have to go to a hospital to have some major sugury, would you feel comfortable knowing that your doctor has got 10% bad customers ??? :-?

Hola Mikey! . . . wellcome back

Doomy : a key thing to keep your identiy private is not pretending you´re somebody else and telling Doomy´s mother lives at Huntsville as this is not supposed to be common knowledge ... also the words you are using can be found almost identical in other postings of you on this forum ...
-
@ Wayne
please Wayne . . . don't lock this thread . . . let us emjoy a little bit! please! ;-)
-
Well, actually I do know Doomy. He is a friend of mine. I just am getting tired of people picking on him. He is actually a very nice guy and his mother does live near Huntsville, Alabama. The reason why I said this is because it would be very easy for the Campbells to hire an attorney and sue the pants off Wayne for the crap that is being said in this forum.
-
and so? whats the mother fits in this scenario? who cares wheres the dm mother lives!!!
EDIT lol . . . DM that sues Wayne?!? have you a far idea of what happened from dm and Wayne? are you sure that dm will win legally speaking?
-
Because, if Doomy's mom lives near Wayne then the DoomMaster himself could very easily pay Wayne a little visit.
-
Hi,
I have had pretty good dealings with people on eBay - oddly enough its been people on Amiga.org that I've had problems with! Two people now I've mailed off goods to and have not received payment for. I'm not out much money at all, but being an Amiga.org member I thought I could trust them! Stupid me.
-G
P.S. Doomy give it a rest already..

You are right about that, dude. :-D

mmm...nice website you have there :-D

It's not mine, it is one of Doomy's sites.

Now what`s the differance between: General Repair and Special Repair? also links to game downloads don`t work and about the program downloads how legal are those? They would`nt be oh I don`t know WAREZ perhaps?

Mikey wrote:

Oh...for a moment there I almost thought you were Doomy :-P
Sorry but I'm in a joking mood here

Glitch : the rule is that you only send goods when the payment is received, not before. It´s a fair thing that every buyer is supposed to accept. Sorry to hear you got framed, but appearantly you can not trust everybody as there are always bad guys ...

that's very nice to hear ! there was something I always wanted to ask doomy. I really wondered why he bought this Funky Bright Pleated Skirt (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63883&item=5374112835) ? I hope not for himself. maybe for his mommy in alabama ?

countzero : the funny thing about that auction is that it was a PayPal only auction ... so he DOES have a PayPal account !! :-o
-
Mikey,
If you are a friend of Doomy, then why did you ask about him in your previous posts like you didn't know him at all and wondering if he's trustworthy or not?
Boy, I'm logging on after more than a year to ask a question like this... Sad.
EDIT: And your avatar is a little too much I think...

Mikey wrote:

No, because I do go by "hear-say". If a substantial number of people had a problem with the guy that is good enough for me. That is called reputation.
The person also displayed some seriously twisted attitude problems. That is also enough for me. I rather not take my precious equipment to a nutcase.
-
Doomy, ooh, I'm sorry, erm.. "Mikey" is it this time?
Give it the {bleep} up. You know that you are not welcome here. In my opinion, you have been proven to be a thief and a liar, and an all around whackjob. From posted reports, you steal from people (our own mods included) and commit fraud using eBay as your modus operandi.
We know you. Now go away. Oh, and yeah, any time you want to "knock on my door", feel free to do so, but remember we're not like the left-coasters that you read about on the news. We have guns AND we are properly trained in their care and handling.
Calling me indecent names and threatening me with a lawsuit (which is what got you banned again) is laughable, as you have accepted the site's terms of service which CLEARLY state that neither I, nor the site moderators are responsible for the opinions posted by other site members, and you cannot sue someone for their opinion.
@everyone else.
I warned you repeatedly that if you kept mentioning this pathetic whacko's name, he would eventually resurface, making me ban yet another class "c" (BTW, "Mikey's" class C is from comcast in Oregon -- gee, imagine that).
STOP talking about this moron. Everyone knows about him, the only reason he keeps resurfacing is because of the fact that you guys are making him famous. I understand the desire to shield others from his tactics, but discussing him constantly only seems to make things worse, because he's not going away.
To that end, this thread is closed, "Mikey" is banned, and I will close ANY new threads that are used to do more than report his illegal activities. He's not a robber baron, nor even Robin Hood. He does not deserve the celebrity you give him, and I'm putting my foot down squarely on the subject after many requests to please, Please, PLEASE stop glorifying this idiot.
There are thousands of ripoff artists on eBay. He is only one.

size 24????!!!!

ok. You guys are having fun, so I'll unlock the thread. I just wish that -- later when everyone's {bleep}ing because Doomy won't go away -- that you brought him here, like saying "candyman" 5 times in the mirror.
Oh, and yeah, Doomy's still banned, and I'll continue to ban any accounts that we catch.

Hi,
What about some sort of verification process in the registration of new members - that information is something that only you (and the other admins perhaps) would be privy to? My two cents (Canadian currency)
-G
-
Glitch : good idea but one can tell whatever he wants and it is often very hard to track down data ...
-
I think we are doing good on our own catching doomy accounts. It just takes a 3 to 4 page thread and a little fun doing so. The downside is we may clutter wayne's servers with these messages that really are not worth saving for future civilizations.
-
Well one thing is for sure, he monitors activity on the site
fairly regularly. I totally agree with Wayne, if he keeps
seeing his name pop-up, it will just egg him on. Nothing
wrong with the inside jokes, but mentioning his name just
for the sake of it is really unnecessary.
C Snyder
BTW, maybe we have had enough fun for now?
-
Lol,
Just discovered this thread. Doomy is for as I know the only one who is kicked of our forum. http://www.atari-forum.com.
-
*sigh*
You guys give him the attention he craves, every time.
-
Well I think we should give the lad another try. I just bought a monitor from him and it arrived no problems. He does need to tone it down a notch though, and he can be a little sensative at times but you can't blame the guy for all the flack he is getting. But overall he is great to talk to and debate with. He does seem to know his Retro computer trivial too! How about it all?
-
I guess any 'true' measure of trustworthiness should extend beyond individual instances of 'good' versus 'bad' experiences...consistency is important
The fact that a couple of guys may have had good experiences in their dealings with a person shown to have deliberately conned a number of individuals, does not indicate a permanent change of attitude - and as such, Doomy, given his past record and his recent abusive, and physically intimidating remarks should not be worthy of an 'Nth chance'.
The guy is clearly facing some serious issues manifesting in his one-dimensional view of reality. His perception of reality revolves around strict and absolute hierarchies, of crappy, good, and best things - be they amigas (A1200 vs A2000), atari STs (STE vs MegaSTE), countries ('european quality', 'german' made) or even people. It is precisely this monotonic view of reality that makes him impossible to become sociable or, God forbid, reason with.
I reckon a simple algorithm could be devised to identify his posts and automatically delete whatever happens to be his latest alter-ego. Such a bot would be looking for contrasting superlatives followed by three word sentences. Mention of the words 'friend' (a friend of doomy's is an oxymoron), military spec, the phrase 'i should know', '4th class assembler' in close proximity should also raise red flags...
