aaahh..yes yes...
I'm not going to type all the history but there are 2 PPC "Amiga like" systems. Amiga Inc's AmigaOne and Genesi's Pegasos.
I dont know where to look up info on a Amiga1..I checked amiga.com but nothing stands out.. someone here post the link please.
Genesi's Pegasos PPC:

I'd prefer Genesi's Pegasos PPC.. you can give it a shot running Debian Linux live at:

As for which is better..depends on what you're after. If its Linux I'd go Pegasos. If its "Amiga like" capability its a toss up. Its probably best to wait for software support though as both are still fine tuning their respective operating systems.

EDIT: the above is my *opinion* and not of any admin/moderator or Amiga.org in general.

Hi,
welcome aboard.
Here’s a link to WinUAE (http://www.winuae.net/) for you to peruse.

The AmigaOne and its small successor the MicroA1C are difficult to find but to those who persevere they can be had. A good place to look for one would be the Amiga dealers on AmigaWorld.net (http://amigaworld.net/)'s front page. But if I were you I'd wait and see what comes along by way of accelerators for your A1200. You'll get more backward compatability that way. Otherwise you'll find yourself running most of the old software under EUAE on the AmigaOne/MicroA1C.
Rumor has it that the Petunia JIT compiler will work in conjunction with a future release of EUAE but in the meantime you'll probably be better off getting WinUAE for your Windows box in terms of compatability.
