Title: Linux mag and UAE
Post by: Will-i-am on August 06, 2005, 02:40:33 PM
I noticed at Barnes and Noble yesterday that the latest Linux magazine had a section on emulators and they had some very good things to say about UAE. They give a step-by-step explanation how to use it and install it. You might check it out.

If you use a debian based Linux system like Ubuntu, you can install UAE easily via Synaptic (multiverse package). The Version 0.8.22 there is good enough to run most of the games, demos and other software. After install just type "uae" in a shell and the UAE gui pops up for easy usage. It's important to note that you need to play with the settings. E.g. to run most games use a Kickstart 1.3 and OCS. If you set Kickstart 3.1 and high settings like AGA, much RAM many demos, games run several times _slower_!!!  :-x
