I went out for drink last night... (Always an ominous start to any story)... When I got back at about 12:30am the neighbours were playing the new Michael Jackson CD really loud. They've done this sort of thing before, playing loud music late at night, though usually they do it on a Sunday night.
In the past I've knocked on the door, rung the door bell, shouted at the window, but they've just ignored me.
Last night I was drunk, so I skipped the diplomatic option, picked up a brick and used it to break their window, I then shouted "Turn the bloody music down, keep the f$£king music down" through the hole (where the window used to be), then threw the brick at the stereo system (Which had the desired effect).
The thing is I don't remember any of this, but I woke this morning with my hand covered in blood, and my girl friend told me what heppened.
I'm really shaken, I don't give a toss about my neighbours, but I've got 5(!!!!), inch long cuts on my right hand... I could easilly lost a finger or something, I'm a bit shaky about it.

I don't think they'll be playing loud music again for a long time... so maybe it was worth it.

If it was me, the loudness wouldn't be the most annoying factor. The fact it was "Michael Jackson's Latest Album" would be. :-)

And that's the story of how bloodline got his nickname. :-D

Get that hand seen to, my mate. You may have tiny pieces of glass in there and the last thing you need is an infection. Some house glass can be seen on X-ray, depending on the angle of the fragment relative to the beam, so an X-ray is in order. Just tell the A&E people that you tripped and put your hand through house glass. You get the rays, the stitches, home the same day (maybe with antibiotics). End of story.

Cheers for the advice, I did get it looked at, apparently it's fine. Somehow none of the cuts are very deep.
I've never done anything like this in my life, before...

Londoners have been tense lately: I can see the difference after being away for a month, even here at the hospital. Fuses are short and leeway is narrow. You may not appreciate it consciously but it manifests itself in situations like this. Think of it along those lines and you'll be back on an even keel soon enough.

Nothing solves problems quite like alcohol ;-)
"To alcohol! The cause of-and solution to-all of life's problems" :-D
Seriously, I hope your hand is ok and that you don't get the local bobby knocking on your door asking for an explanation.

Thanks to all, my hand is fine... I didn't even needa stich. As for the police, I don't think there's going to be any problems. I've had quite a few neighbours thank me for shutting these people up, noteably the people who live above and below the noise makers.

I hate noisy neighbours :-x
I think you did quite well to hit the stereo if you were blind drunk

I have no problem with them playing music during the day, or even in the evening, but at night... apparently I did threaten to "CUT THEIR BALLS OFF" (http://www.intriguing.com/mp/_sounds/lb/sunrise.wav) if I heard it again.

To be fair it was right next to the window... one of the reasons why it was so loud...

As you may remember I was somewhat tormented by my loud neighbours for what must have been over a year. So I know that these things can drive you past the point of sanity even without the aid of alcohol. I had similar thoughts I never actually went through with, but fortunately (or not? he he) I don't drink...
Glad you're okay, dude. :-)
