Title: Bargain 2000?
Post by: zx6r6 on August 03, 2005, 11:38:49 PM
Picked up THIS (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5221129868) earlier. Judging by the costs of similar 1200 parts I've got a bargain. Opinions?

Yeah, looks pretty good.  That should be one mean 2000, especially with the Catweasel installed.  Grab an RTG card and you'll be set.
On a side note though - why have they gone to all the trouble and expense of putting an 060 in there, with 3.1 roms, etc then left a 5 1/2 floppy drive in it?  You would think it should be a CD-Rom, wouldn't you?  Admittedly it has a SCSI tower with it, but it gives the impression of it being standard by having the 5 1/2 floppy in it.  Anyway, my rant's over

You had me confused for a second! Embarrasingly I just noticed that the ebay picture isn't the 2000 I picked up! The one I've got has 2 cd roms, 1 in the 5 1/2 bay and 1 in the scsi tower. It also had a zip 100 drive in the secondary floppy slot and a second floppy housed in the tower. I took the tower apart earlier and noticed an amp and speakers mounted in it aswell! :)

Ehr, and how about memory, the auction probably is wrong in this field also.... 0,5MB Chip on a rev 6.2 mainboard? Make that at least 1MB. And if the picture of the mainboard is the one you got it also has a 2MB Chipmem expansion.....

Looks like the pictures are picked from internet instead of being taken from the machine you've got...

Don't forget to check/remove the battery!
