Title: WTB: A2065 or equiv
Post by: icbrkr on July 29, 2005, 12:40:08 AM
Topic says it all - I'm looking for a Zorro II/III based card for my A3000.  Nothing fancy, just need an RJ45 hookup.  Sure I already posted this in another topic, but that one is so far  off topic I figured I'd post it again :)

You do know that a A2065 needs a transceiver for a rj45 plug?

Isn't it a AUI adapter or something like that?  I'm fine with that if it comes with it.

I got an A2065 w/ AUI adaptor from Softhut a few months ago. They may still have some in stock.

Unfortunately, they do not :/  I had an order in with them and  after some days they told me that all used ethernet cards were gone and the only thing left was an Xsurf.

Bought my A2065 for 34€ a couple of months ago on ebay - but prices have gone up since, now ~50€. 10BaseT transceivers are 1-3€, afaik any model works.

That's about what I was looking at spending, something in the $50 range.  If I'm going much higher, I'll end up getting an Xsurf (though I don't need the clockport/IDE adapters currently, I might later).

Looks like I might be settling on a XSurf anyway.  GGS-Data has a July sale (it's 7/31 still right now! :)) where they're $101.  Their FAQ shows that outside of the EU, they won't charge VAT so times the total by .8.  So roughly $80 for a new Xsurf 3... I can deal with that.
