Hello Wayne,
I tried to reach you via e-mail and PM but I had no success. So I ask you this way: is the Amiga.org e-mail forwarding service canceled? Have I missed an announcement in the last weeks? Or why doesn't it work with ensu@amiga.org anymore?
Could you please answer me? (It's important for me because all my buddies only know this address)
thanx and ciao...

I know of no reason why it should not work.
-
I did notice that a short-circuit-mail to kronos@amiga.org
can now take a few hours, while it was a matter of minutes if
not secounds before :-o
Maybe something with the new server ?

@ensu,
This is the error we receive with your e-mails;
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
(reason: 554 5.4.6 Too many hops)

I just got an email through a-org last night. I wasn't even looking for one. :-)

Hello Wayne,
I have no clue what this means. I didn't change anything in the last weeks. What is the problem and what can I do to solve it?
ciao...
-
@ensu.
It simply looks like a network issue and not much that we know what to do with. We're still looking into it.

TTL?

"Too many hops"? Nonsence!! I like my brew to have
a hoppy aroma, and it brings up the bitters a bit
too!
-
Hhmmmm...
in the other thread you talked about 400? members with the same problem. Do they have a ".de" (like me) or ".fr" address?
ciao...
-
@ensu
Various addresses really. Nothing we've been able to pin down.

Mine's working fine. I only discovered the service existed a couple of months ago when Wayne posted something about Spammers abusing it and I think it's worth making a contribution to Amiga.org for this service alone... always assuming that Amiga.Org is here to stay (I hope) :-)

Looks like it's here to stay - thankfully :-D

I got the test mail but:
If you receive this then your amiga.org email address is working. If it
does not receive you then it obviously isn't working correctly.
That reminds me a bit of a web page I was developing with someone ages ago. Originally, he had added a backgound sound "If you can not hear this, then you need to install RealPlayer". :-)

Hello Wayne,
I changed my profile to another (new, other provider) e-mail address and now it works. It lasts about one hour for transfer (reason may be traffic during war) but this is okay as long as I get the mails :-)
ciao...

ensu: Karl Malden, right?
Wayne: Not open-relay I hope? That could explain the problems because operating as an open-relay would make the server you're on blacklisted and some (eventually all) mail servers would refuse to have anything to do with it.
To people in general:
Knowing nothing about mailservers and starting one is the equivalent to a passenger getting into a jumbojet and start taxing out... Atleast buy a book on the subject. The consequences can be serius, not only for you but, but also for the server you're on.
-
It's not supposed to be an open relay.

No it's not supposed to be one. But have you checked? You're in deep trouble if it is infact an open relay. It's not your mailserver specificly that gets on the lists, it's your providers entire park.
