Title: Arrghh! Graphics tablets and Winuae / Dpaint
Post by: micromike on July 21, 2005, 09:32:28 AM
Hi everyone

I've been unsuccessfully trying to get graphics tablets working under emulation with Winuae and Dpaint and trying various drivers and tablets . I came across 'formaldehyde' which is a driver for various tablets - I purchased a Hyperpen 6000 tablet (which Formalydehyde can work with) but it's not detecting the tablet. The tablet works using a serial port connector as well as a PS2. I have the serial port switched on (COM1) in Win UAE and tried all the different port settings ( ie speeds of serial port e.t.c).

Can you use a graphics tablet on WinUAE - in theory I would say yes - but I've bought 2 now ! I also own a nice big Trust 12" x 6" USB tablet but it won't work properly with WinUae - the cursor moves around much too quickly in WinUAE no matter what settings I've tried. I could buy a Wacom tablet but I don't want the same problems!

Dpaint V supported pressure sensitivity....I'd love to find a tablet that could work under emulation providing this for Dpaint V. Any suggestions anyone? All I'm using is Dpaint.

Ideally I'd like a tablet PC and I'd like to be able to use it with Dpaint V ...but I've no idea how it will perform if I'm creating pictures say in Ham mode in Dpaint that are 320x256.....most windows desktops are far bigger than that and it seems that is something to do with the problems.

Thanks for any advice - I've been scanning Ebay e.t.c but I can't seem to find any tablets for sael.

Maybe I have to buy a real amiga instead......?  It might be a lot easier!

Thanks for your advice.
